Costs of damage to agriculture in Cagayan reach P200M

THE total amount of damages to agriculture, fishery and livestock caused by the floods in some towns in the province of Cagayan has reached P200 million.

The flooding occurred due to rainfall caused by the North wind tail.

According to data from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), several towns recorded extensive damage.

Here are the affected towns in the province:

Sta. Praxedes- 3.63 hectares of rice, 0.86 hectares of vegetable and 4.68 fruit bearing trees and 56 units fish cages and 0.9843 hectares of fishpond.

Claveria- 250.44 hectares of palay, 12.0 has in corn, 52.80 in vegetable, 55.0 in fruit bearing trees, 24 units fish cages, 6.54 in fishponds and 2 units in Oyster Raft.
